Chapter 6 or later
Xeno Series Wiki: Chapter 6 (after the party reaches Tantal). Fandom's availability table instead lists it under Chapter 8 Started.
How the quest unlocks
Complete the merc missions Zenobia's Enemy 1 (Argentum), 2 (Gormott), 3 (Uraya) and 4 (Mor Ardain) in sequence — these ARE her Key Affinity levels 2-5 nodes (each 20 min, Zenobia as leader). Then accept the merc mission 'We Need To Talk!' (requires those four missions done, Mythra in the party, and the Kingdom of Tantal reached) and talk to Zenobia at Goldmouth Res. Dist. — accepting it and meeting her triggers the Blade Quest. Xeno Series Wiki lists availability as 'Chapter 6 (after the party reaches Tantal)' and requires Nia, Tora, Mòrag, Zeke and Mythra in the party.
Field skill checks
- Earth seal: Earth Mastery Lv 2 + Superstrength Lv 2
- Water seal: Water Mastery Lv 3 + Superstrength Lv 3 (plus Earth Mastery 2 + Superstrength 2 to break the wall hiding it)

- Wind seal: Wind Mastery Lv 7 + Superstrength Lv 7
- Light seal: Light Mastery Lv 3 + Superstrength Lv 9

Required quests
- Merc missions Zenobia's Enemy 1-4 (each: Zenobia as leader plus one Lv 1+ Blade each of a rotating element mastery, Superstrength, and Leaping; 20 minutes each)
- Merc mission We Need To Talk! (indefinite duration — it only ends when you talk to Zenobia in the Goldmouth Res. Dist.; Pyra or Mythra required to complete)
Also required
- Mythra and Zenobia must be in the party to meet Zaman, who only appears at night or early morning
- Final boss Thanatobeast Andraz is Lv 64 with about 5.6 million HP and must be fought twice back to back
Walkthrough
- Complete the merc missions Zenobia's Enemy 1 through 4 in order, then accept 'We Need To Talk!' and meet Zenobia in the Goldmouth Residential District to start the quest.
- Go to the library in Elmos Square, Theosoir, Tantal, to research the legendary monster; the bard Zaman tells you of the Thanatobeast Andraz and its four regional seals.
- Remove the Sealstone of Earth: a ledge in northern Upper Level - Left, Melnath's Shoulder, Gormott, reached by climbing down a ladder (Earth Mastery 2 + Superstrength 2).
- Remove the Sealstone of Water: Coralline Sanctum in the southeast Stomach region of Uraya — break the wall on the back side of the basin (Earth Mastery 2 + Superstrength 2) to drain the water, then break the seal (Water Mastery 3 + Superstrength 3).
- Remove the Sealstone of Fire: the Abandoned Excavation near the Fourth Ridge Entrance, Mor Ardain (Fire Mastery 4 + Superstrength 4).
- Remove the Sealstone of Wind: the top of Godsford Isle, Leftheria, reached via a carefully timed jump during the slide down from Lud Cloudway: Fonsett; the area is guarded by Rapturous Scandia (Wind Mastery 7 + Superstrength 7).
- Report to Zaman at Anastatia's in Theosoir — he is only present at nighttime or early morning, and Mythra and Zenobia must be in the party.
- Remove the four remaining seals at Xataris Spring in Temperantia's Central Plain: Light (Light Mastery 3 + Superstrength 9), Thunder (Electric Mastery 9 + Superstrength 9), Ice (Ice Mastery 9 + Superstrength 9), and Darkness (Dark Mastery 9 + Superstrength 9).
- Stand before the sealstones to release the Lv 64 Thanatobeast Andraz (Behemoth; 5,610,816 HP; immune to Blowdown and Knockback; enrages below 50% HP with constant regeneration) — the first fight ends when roughly 40% of its health remains.
- Immediately fight Thanatobeast Andraz a second time; unable to truly kill the regenerating beast, Zenobia smashes it beyond the horizon and the quest completes.
Good to know
- The real wall is field skills, not the boss: the last seals demand Lv 9 Electric/Ice/Dark Mastery plus Superstrength 9, which effectively means a late-game Blade collection even though the quest opens in Chapter 6.
- Zaman only shows up at Anastatia's at night or early morning — change the clock at a rest spot, and keep Mythra and Zenobia in the party or he won't advance the quest.
- The Wind seal is the sneaky one: slide down from Lud Cloudway: Fonsett and jump at the right moment to land on Godsford Isle's summit; miss it and you get to hike back and retry.
