Quest: “Limits of Awareness” — Argentum Trade Guild — Goldmouth Warehouse (quest giver: Adenine). Later objectives in Temperantia and the World Tree's Data Processing Room.

How to get Adenine: Awakened from a random Core Crystal (standard rare-Blade pull; the wiki states no specific pull odds). Any of Rex, Nia, Zeke, or Mòrag can bond her.

How the quest unlocks
Complete the 'Adenine's Books' task series — obtain and decipher all four Tomes of Morytha in the fixed order #2, #4, #3, #1, each gated by a Key Affinity trust threshold and finished with a merc mission led by Adenine. Deciphering Tome #1 unlocks her Lv 5 Key Affinity and the Blade Quest, which is then received by entering Goldmouth Warehouse with Adenine in the party. Xeno Series Wiki lists availability as 'Chapter 8 (after the party enters the World Tree)' and requires Nia, Tora, Mòrag, Zeke, Pyra and Adenine in the party.

Walkthrough

  1. Tome #2: unlock Adenine's Lv 2 Key Affinity (100 Trust), buy the tome at Reedirait Bookstore in Argentum, then complete the merc mission Tome of Morytha Vol. 2 (raises Extra-Ancient Wisdom to Lv 2).
  2. Tome #4: unlock Lv 3 Key Affinity (1,300 Trust), then with Adenine in the party and over 30,000 G talk to Pilopilo near Argentum's Central Exchange and win his auction — a 30 G bid is sufficient — and complete Tome of Morytha Vol. 4 (EAW Lv 3).
  3. Tome #3: unlock Lv 4 Key Affinity (3,800 Trust), talk to Tevissa at Goldmouth Flight Deck, salvage the sunken tome at Umon's Shipyard in Gormott, and complete Tome of Morytha Vol. 3 (EAW Lv 4).
  4. Tome #1: talk to Krezzi in Theosoir, Tantal, and trade a three-item set with an Excitement Quotient of 100 — only the 'Cute Fluffy Ears' set (Gormotti-Ear Headband + Fluffy Snow Bug + Fire Tarantula) satisfies him. Complete Tome of Morytha Vol. 1 to unlock her Lv 5 Key Affinity and the Blade Quest.
  5. Start the quest at Goldmouth Warehouse, then find the glowing stone tablet near Aegishammer in Temperantia — Pyra or Mythra must be in the party; excavating needs Earth Mastery 7 + Fortitude 6 and opening the trove needs Lockpicking 6 + Ancient Wisdom 6.
  6. Return to Goldmouth Warehouse and enter the password into the glowing Morythan Slate (Extra-Ancient Wisdom Lv 4 required to interact): the code is XE36E46S19A3.
  7. If you enter a wrong password, the follow-up quest 'Adenine's Password' triggers: dispatch the merc mission Adenine's Password (Adenine as leader, 20 min), then collect Morythan Tablet clues from Girogi in Fonsa Myma, Uraya (costs 10,000 G), Rododo near Goldmouth Flight Deck, and Arecilion in front of Library Philosofia, Tantal, before re-entering the code.
  8. Investigate the Data Processing Room at the World Tree.
  9. Defeat the Lv 57 Vaido Sovereign and two Lv 56 Howl Sentries guarding the room; Adenine asks to stay and study the archive.

Good to know

  • The Tomes must be done strictly in the order 2 → 4 → 3 → 1; each is gated behind a trust threshold, so pouch items/battling with Adenine speed this up.
  • Enter the password XE36E46S19A3 correctly on the first try and the entire 'Adenine's Password' quest is skipped — it is the only completely missable quest in the game. Fail once on purpose if you want it logged.
  • Krezzi's trade wastes any item set that isn't 'Cute Fluffy Ears' — don't hand him the other seven combinations.
